Photograph Description: Overhead view of Japanese 'Kate' torpedo bomber shot down by Navy PB4Y patrol bomber near Turk. Rear gunner is standing in cockpit as though preparing to bail out. 'LCDR William Janeshek, pilot of the PB4Y, reported the man suddenly sat down and failed to get out of the plane, which exploded upon hitting the water.' Published: 1944 June 22.
